If you're getting into decluttering and organizing like me, there's some things that just need a place. I love that I can crochet, because I use it to my advantage when I need to organize things. I made this plastic grocery bag holder in 2020 or 2021, and it's probably my most useful crochet project to date 🤣 because I use it ALL the time. I love practical crochet, and I'm here to share this free pattern I created with you :)
I love how easy and repetitive this pattern is! After you get to Round 6 you won't really have to think about it anymore!
If you're a beginner, or experienced crocheter, you'll enjoy making this little dopamine boosting project. I have a free written and video tutorial below, so in case you have any hiccups, I got you~

Pattern Notes:
Chain 1 loosely to start each round.
Don’t turn your work after each round.
The stitch count is at the end of each row in parentheses ().
To end each round, you will always slip stitch to the first stitch you made of that round.
Make a slip knot and put it on your hook. Slip stitch to the first chain you made to create a circle.
Round 1: Ch 1, dc 12 into your circle. Sl st to the first dc you made. (12)

Round 2: Ch 1, dc 2 into each st. (24)

Round 3: Ch 1, *dc in next st, dc 2 in next st*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the round. Sl st to the first dc you made. (36)

Round 4: Ch 1, *dc, dc, dc 2 in next st*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the round. Sl st to the first dc you made. (48)

Round 5: Ch 1, *(dc 3, ch 1) in next st, sk 2 sts*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the round Sl st to the first dc you made. (64 including chains)

Purchase the Downloadable PDF Pattern --> https://www.thestitchqueencrochet.com/product-page/crochet-plastic-grocery-bag-holder-organizer-pattern-video-tutorial
Round 6: Ch 1, (dc 3, ch 1) into the last ch 1 space you created on the last round. *Skip the next dc 3 cluster, and (dc 3, ch 1) into the next ch 1 space*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row. Sl st to the first dc you made. (64 including chains)
Your bag holder should start to cup up around this point. Which is good!

Round 7 - 28: Repeat Round 6.

Round 29: Ch 1, (dc 2, ch 1) into the last ch 1 space you created on the last round. *Skip the next dc 3 cluster, and (dc 2, ch 1) into the next ch 1 space *. Repeat from * to * until the end of the round. Sl st to the first dc you made. Fasten off and weave in your ends.

Drawstring:
Use three strands of yarn together at the same time. Make a slip knot and put it on your hook. Chain 100. Fasten off and weave in your ends.

Weave the drawstring in and out of the last row of your bag: over a 2dc cluster, and under a 2dc cluster.
When in use, you can tie the drawstring at the length you want, so it can hang as high or low as you prefer.

And you're done! Great Job!
